August S. Geiser, 74, of Town of Charlestown, a retired farmer, died early today at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton where he had been a patient for five days. He had been ill for the past three months.

A native of Town Charlestown, he was born June 5, 1884, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Xavier Geiser. A former director of Jefferson School in the township for many years, he also belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Chilton, its Holy Name Society, and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. On Nov. 9, 1908 he married the former Rose Greuel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Jericho. She died May 5, 1933.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Leonella) Keuler, Mrs. Claude (Mildred) Gebhart, both of the town of Chilton, Miss Bernadine Geiser of Sheboygan; three sons, Werner of Charlesburg, Clarence of the town of Charlestown, Richard of Beaver Dam; four brothers, Joseph of Jericho, John of Melletta, S.D., Martin and Peter of Chilton; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Hanke of Charlesburg, Mrs. Michael Schwartz of Chilton, Sister Mary Tharcisia, OSF, Campbellsport and 17 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.

Services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor will be the celebrant of the Requiem Mass and Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
