WENDELL – Bobby Alford, 80, died Monday. A native of Johnston County he was son to the late Alma & Libby Batten Alford. He was a loving father, lifelong farmer and avid fox hunter. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Alford, siblings, Valton “Red” Alford, Alton “Sug” Alford, Carlton “Tiny” Alford, Billy Wayne Alford, Christine Alford, Rachel Alford Ingram, Lila Ruth Alford Mincey, Edith Alford Walker, and Jane Ellen Alford Bailey.

Funeral service 11 am, Thursday, Baptist Tabernacle Church with interment in the church cemetery.

He is survived by sons, Hester Alford, & B. Wayne Alford (Jane), both of Wendell, daughter Jennifer “Jenny” Butler (Gene) of Benson, sisters, Jean Claffey (Bill), Sallie Jeffreys, & Willie Sue Curin (Marshall), grandchildren, Beth Johnson and Ryan & Cameron Hester, and the mother of his children, Joyce Liles Alford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Family Ministry Center or Triple L. Seniors Food Ministry.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staffs of Duke Raleigh Health & Guardian Care Center.
