Son of Bryant Alford and Lucy Alford. Husband of Libby Batten. They were married December 11, 1910 in O'Neals Township, Johnston County, NC. He was buried on December 16, 1957 at Tabernacle Baptist, Wendell, NC.

On his WWI Draft Card, Alma put his date of birth a April 14, 1891. He also listed his place of birth as Wake County.

NOTE: His middle name was provided by David Alford.
