Lila Ruth Alford Mincey, 81, of 8648 Applewhite Road died at her home on Thursday evening June 12, 2003.

Lila Ruth was born on February 20, 1922 to the late Alma Alford and Libby Batten Alford. She was married to the late Milton Barnwell Mincey who preceded her in death on December 16, 1987.

Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2003 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel.... Burial Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon, NC.

Surviving: sons, Connie Mack Mincey of Zebulon, George Mincey of Zebulon, John A. Mincey of Myrtle Beach; daughters, Alma M. Horton of Wendell, Jeanette Mincey of Wendell, Rhonda M. Carlyle of Zebulon; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Alford of Wendell; sisters, Sallie A. Jefferys of Wendell, Emma Jean A. Claffey of Greensboro, Willie Sue A. Currin of Raleigh.

In addition to her parents and her husband Lila Ruth was preceded in death by grandchildren, B.J. Mincey and Joshua Jones; brothers, Billy Wayne, Valton, Alton and Carlton; sisters, Christine, Edith, Janie, and Rachel....
