According to the 1900 census, Michael "Pocherny" and his wife Mary were both born in Poland, he in November 1868, she in December of 1872. He had immigrated in 1875; she, in 1883. Mary had had three children, all living at home (in birth order): Harry, Anna, and Bessie. Her father, Jacob Kaminski, was living with them. Their 1910 census record was not located. Their 1920 census record at the same address indicates that they had had another daughter, Mary, born circa 1902.
Mary's date and place of death are from her Indiana death certificate. The understanding of the informant was that she had been born Dec. 8, 1870 in Poland to J. & Frances Kaminski.
According to the obituary index of the South Bend Tribune, the obituary for Mary, wife of Michael Paszesny, was published in May 15, 1937.
So it appears that the year of death inscribed on her gravestone is incorrect.
Mrs. Michael Paczesny.
Mrs. Mary Paczesny, aged 65, of 1031 North O'Brien street, died at 8:30 o'clock this morning in her home after two years' illness.
