Hiram D. Lackey, Retired Farmer, Dies.

Hiram D. Lackey, 84, 1553 Lulu, retired farmer, died Friday.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at Dunsford Funeral Home, Augusta, Kansas. Burial will be in Dunlap Cemetery, Butler Co., Kansas.

He was born in Sedgwick County and had lived here since 1957, coming from Augusta, Kansas.

Survivors include his widow, Mary R.; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Clippinger, Augusta, Kan.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Dolores Rank and Mrs. Nellora Boyer, both of Wichita; two sons, William A., Valley Center, and Raymond G., Douglass, Kans.; two step-sons, Larue Corn and Dale Corn, both of Wichita; a brother, George A., Springfield, Colo.; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Dennett, Alliance, N. C.

Hiram D. Lackey was born to Andrew and Phoebe Ann Lackey December 24, 1881 on a farm 4 miles northwest of Rose Hill. He departed this life June 3, 1966 at his home in Wichita.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mary Lackey, two sons, William Lackey of Valley Center and Raymond Lackey of Douglass, one daughter, Ruby Clippinger of Augusta, one brother, George Lackey, Springfield, Colorado, one sister, Clara Dennett of Alliance, North Carolina, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, two step-sons, two step-daughters, 11 step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Hiram was such a good friend, neighbor, father and husband. He was a member of the minisa Golden Age club and has been an active member until his recent illness.

For years Hiram played baseball. His team was the first team to play under the lights at Lawerence Stadium.

Memorial services were held at Dunsford Chapel on June 5, 1966. Dr. William C. Nichols was the officiating minister. Dwight Markley sang "in The Garden", accompanied by Mrs. Lawrence Settergren, organist.

Casketbearers were Roy Boyer, Dale Corn, Harold Kirkpatrick, Melvin Dennett, Edwin Dennett and Lewis Mayfield jr.

Interment was in Dunlap Cemetery near Rose Hill.
