She was born September 27, 1916 in the town of Sharon, Polonia, Wisconsin daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Check. She married Stanley Blarek on October 17, 1936. He preceded her in death August 15, 2000.
Otilia was a homemaker with such hobbies as spending time at her cottage in Tomahawk, sewing, baking and bowling. Years ago she was a member of the Brokaw Auxiliary Fire Department.
Survivors include one daughter Rosalie (Jim) Parsons, Brokaw, three sons, Don (Faye) Blarek, Wausau, Stan (Lois) Blarek, Minnetonka, Minn., Charles Blarek, Wausau, six grandchildren, Kurt (Stacy) Blarek, Tami (Bryan) Ermeling, Laura Blarek, Sara (Jim) Lippold, Scott, Vicki Parsons, five great-grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Sabrina, Elizabeth and Alex, one sister Bernice (Chester) Bembenek, Stevens Point, one brother, Charles (Helen) Check, Manitowoc.
Besides her husband Stanley, she was preceded by 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday, February 21, 2002 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Very Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday, 4-7 PM at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Thursday 9:15 AM until the time of services at church. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 PM on Wednesday, at the Sixth Street funeral home.
