Gaffney, S.C. - Kelton L. Allison, 74, of 927 Ellis Ferry Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Gaffney Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Mary Lester Allison and son of the late Richard Allison and Lillie Vinesett Allison.

Mr. Allison retired from the Cherokee County Road and Bridges Department, loved hunting, fishing and Nascar, especially Dale Earnhardt. He was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two step-daughters, Robin Duckett and husband, James David, of Gaffney and Kim Painter and husband, Jamie, of Blacksburg; a sister, Martha Lemmons and husband, Sidney “Doc”, of Gaffney; three grandchildren, Destiny Duckett, Brooke Duckett and Brittany Eubanks.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Allison and Bill Allison and two sisters, Louise Pierce and Bertha Fowler.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sidney Norton officiating. Interment will be in the Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342 or Disabled American Veterans, Jack E. Daniel Chapter 54, P.O. Box 604, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.

The family will be at the residence, 927 Ellis Ferry Road, Gaffney.
