~ Bertha Carol Allison Fowler, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at her residence.
~ Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of John Oliver Fowler and daughter of the late Richard Garfield Allison and Lillian Vinesett Allison. Mrs. Fowler was a homemaker and member of Faith Baptist Church.
~ Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Kim Greene and husband, Roger, of Mooresboro, N.C., Jessica Fowler Raposa and husband, Peter, of Ellenboro, N.C., and Beth Fowler of the home; two step-daughters, Donna Fowler and Angela Fowler, both of Gaffney; two brothers, Bill Allison and wife, Lorene, and Kelton Allison and wife, Mary, all of Gaffney; two sisters, Louise Pierce and Martha Lemmons and husband, Sidney, all of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Justin Greene, Jake Greene, Maria Raposa, Rachel Raposa and Vanessa Raposa; three step-grandchildren, Jimmy Burchfield, Lacie Burchfield and Lynn Hanson; numerous nieces and nephews.
~ She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Allison; a grandson, Jonathan Greene; and a step-grandson, Jason Hanson.
~ The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mickey Mullinax and the Rev. Sidney Norton officiating.
