Popular and Respected Mount Pleasant Woman Passes Away
MOUNT PLEASANT, September 03 -- The entire community was shocked and grieved Friday evening to learn of the death of Diantha [sic] CHRISTENSEN, wife of George CHRISTENSEN, which had occurred that afternoon as a result of internal hemorrhage, caused by childbirth. The unfortunate lady had given birth to a child about three hours before death claimed her as his own.
The deceased was born in Mount Pleasant on the 23rd day of July 1865 and has resided here all her life. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter MOGOSON.
About nine years ago she was married to George CHRISTENSEN of this city. They have made this their home during all of their married life. Of the union there have been two children, and the little one born Friday. The little babe passed away a few hours after its mother gave up her life.
The Funeral will be held from the Latter-day Saints meeting house tomorrow at 10:00 o'clock a.m.
Mr. CHRISTENSEN has been absent from home until about a year ago on a mission in Europe, which he fulfilled for nearly three years. His grief over the unexpected death of his beloved wife is heartrending.
