Robert Lee Acker Sr., 85 passed away Saturday April 25, 2015 at his home in Auburn with his family at his side.
He was born January 26, 1930 in Kendallville to Alva Acker Sr.and Elsie Mignon (Hills) Acker.
He was a member of the Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church and worked for 32 years at Foley Pattern in Auburn. After his retirement he went to work for 9 years at Walmart in Auburn.
Robert married Dorothy Handshoe on September 30, 1972 in Auburn and she survives.
He is also survived by 3 daughters and a son. Marsha Ann Jones of Auburn, Diana Lee Boyd and her husband Richard of Waterloo, Beverly Jean Emerick and her husband Robert of Auburn and Robert Lee Acker Jr and his wife Carrie of Auburn, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. A sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Robert Luke of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Ron Jones, a granddaughter, Julie McMaken, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
Services are 10 AM Wednesday April 29, 2015 at Wateroo Freewill Baptist Church. Rev. Ron Stambaugh officiating. Burial in South Milford Cemetery.
