J.N. WHITE, VETERAN AT PLANT DIES
James N. White, 75, died at 8 p.m. Thursday at his home, 402 South Ward street. He was an employe of long service at the John Morrell & Co. plant, having worked there for forty-two years.
He was the son of James E. and Lucinda White and was born in Schuyler county, Mo., November 8, 1860 [sic]. He came to Ottumwa in 1890 and had lived here since.
He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Glenwood camp No. 1740, and Loyal Order of Moose, No. 484. He also was a member of the Davis Street Christian church.
He is survived by his wife, Etta; two sons, Arthur P. White of Ottumwa and Harry R. White of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. J.M. Dial of Ottumwa and Mrs. O.R. Bigham of Denver; two brothers, Dora White of Coatsville, Mo., and Charlie White of Glenwood, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Turner of Lancaster, Mo., and Mrs. Zella Hurd of Lancaster, Mo., and by fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
