Mr. Joseph W. (Joe) Cummins, Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at St. Dominic Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Cummins was born July 14, 1931. He graduated from Duck Hill High School. He served in the U S Navy, four years during the Korean War. Mr. Cummins was employed and retired from Pennaco Hosiery after 39 years. He worked for the county of Grenada for 13 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Clan Cumming Society, USA, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the Scottish Military Order of Stars and Bars. His greatest treasure on earth was his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph W. Cummins, Sr. and Lillie Caldwell Cummins; his brothers Herman Cummins, Creighton Cummins, Watt Doster, and Arl Doster; his sisters Eddie Pearl Caldwell and Lila Welch.

Mr. Cummins is survived by his wife of 63 years, Retha Norton Cummins; his sons Bobby Joe Cummins (Jamie), Eddie Cummins, Billy Cummins (Belinda) and his daughter, Kathy Cummins Garrick (David). He had 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who he was so proud of.

Visitation will be at National Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Funeral Services will be Wednesday in the chapel at National Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
