Herman Cummins Sr., 74, of Grenada, died Feb. 2, 2008, at his home.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. at National Funeral Home in Grenada.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Albert Britt officiating and Melanie Woods providing the special music. Burial followed in the Red Hill Cemetery near Duck Hill.

Mr. Cummins Sr. was born on Nov. 5, 1933, in Vaiden, Mississippi to Joseph and Lilly Cummins. He was a Baptist. Mr. Cummins was employed as a maintenance mechanic for 40 years at McQuay in Grenada.

Mr. Cummins was preceded in death by a son, Trent Mac Cummins.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Cummins of Grenada; one son, Herman Cummins Jr. and his wife, Gilda, of Calhoun City; three brothers, James Cummins of Holcomb, Mitchell Cummins of Prattville, Ala., and Joe Cummins Jr. of Grenada; four grandchildren, Julie Megan Cummins of Grenada, Joanna Nichole Reed of Calhoun City, Brandon Timothy Reed of Washington, DC, and Scott Myers Morlino of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Glenn Cummins, Michael Woods, Ben Woods, David Cummins, Tommie Woods, and Eddie Dean Johnson.
National Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
