Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for John Mesner, at the Mesner home near Germantown. He died at his home Thursday, March 6. Services were conducted by the Rev. G. B. Eschenbacher with interment in St. John cemetery, Germantown.

John August Wilhelm Mesner was born August 4, 1875, Cook county, Ill. When he was 12 years of age he came to O'Brien county, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married Dec. 19, 1901 to Engelene Tietjer. Eleven children were born to them, five preceding their father in death.

After the death of his first wife, he was again married to Sophie Tesch in 1920. Four children were born to them. He died Thursday, March 6 at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Mr. Mesner is survived by six sons, John of Chandler, Minn., William of Primghar, Bennard, Walter, Earl and LeRoy, Paullina and four daughters, Mrs. George Godtsche of Cleghorn, Mrs. Ray Appeldorn, Mrs. Delbert Appeldorn and LuEtta, Paullina. Also 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
