Martin L. Reese, 98, of Kiel, died Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2015 at The Waterford of Plymouth. He was born on November 17, 1916 in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late William C. & Elizabeth (Koepp) Reese. He attended school in the Town of Rantoul. On April 2, 1938 he married Flora Wagner in New Holstein. Flora preceded him in death on April 5, 2006. Martin had previously worked at Leverenz Shoe Factory, New Holstein and Stoelting Mfg, Kiel before working for the City of Kiel for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1981. From 1945 up until the last few months he also did saw filing and gumming at his home. He also enjoyed doing carpentry work and took great pride in building his own cottage along with many other projects. Martin was a great lover of nature and the time he could spend outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to polka music. Survivors include his three daughters: Mary (Glenn) Dulmes, Sheboygan Falls, Lois Cozzuli, Menomonee Falls, Alice (John) Ackermann, Sheboygan, five grandchildren, Pauline (James) McGowan, Nicole (Daniel) Meer, Kirk (Kathy) Cozzuli, Marty Marie (Martin) Tomczyk, Christi (Jonathan) Nagode and grand daughter-in-law, Kelly Anhalt. He is further survived by nine great grandchildren, Tim (Amanda) Anhalt, Alexa (Brad) Goch, Brandon (Ashley) Zellner, Morgan & Alexander Meer, Zechariah & Christopher Cozzuli, Riley & Sophie Tomczyk, three great great grandchildren, Cole & Charlotte Anhalt, Hudson Goch, sister-in-law, Lorraine Reese, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Greg Anhalt, a great grandson, Brett Zellner, two sisters, Mary (Sylvester) Toebe, Betty (Thomas) Sabatino and five brothers, Fred (Ovella), William, Richard (Josephine), Robert (Marion) and Ervin (Lucille) Reese. Funeral services for Martin will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, June 27, 2015 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 424 Fremont St., Kiel with Dan Krueger, Licensed Lay Minister officiating. Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. A memorial has been established for St. Peter's United Church of Christ. Martin's family would like to extend their thanks to the Doctors, nurses and staff at The Waterford, Plymouth, Calumet Medical Center, Chilton and St. Nicholas Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Martin and his family. They would also like to thank Martin's wonderful neighbors and the doughnut gang for the friendship and time they spent with Martin.
