Lizzie married and divorced Daniel Crockett Tickle and then married Vernon F. Porterfield, a fireman with the N&W Railroad. She died in either Roanoke, Virginia or Johnson City, TN, according to two different obituaries.

DEATH OF MRS. PORTERFIELD
Mrs. Laura Porterfield, a sister of Mrs. W.E. Shufflebarger, of Roanoke, died at her home in that city yesterday after an illness which has lasted over some months. The remains were brought to Graham last night to the Shufflebarger home, and the funeral will be held from there this morning with interment at Falls Mills, the old family homestead.

Mrs. Laura Porterfield, a daughter of the late John W. Johnson, died at her home in Johnson City, Tenn. on last Wednesday. The remains were brought to Falls Mills [area] and interred in the family cemetery near the old home place.
