William Pollard was one of the founders of Bolton, set off from Lancaster , Mass. "A petition was presented to a town meeting May 16, 1733, signed by Josiah Wheeler, William Pollard (his son in law), and others, asking that the east part of Lancaster be set off as a seperate corp. This was done in 1738, and the new town called Bolton." Pollard was a farmer. He and his wife joined the church of Christ, Lancaster. Apr. 7, 1728. Administration of his estate 1762.
