Walter was the son of Thomas Pollard and Sarah Farmer of Billerica, and m. Billerica 9 Sep 1735 Dorithy DANFORTH, the daughter of Samuel Danforth and Dorothy Shedd. Walter was a tavern keeper, and was titled Captain on his grave monument.

Shortly after their marriage, Walter and Dorithy moved to Bedford, Mass. where their eleven children were born from 1737 to 1757. They later moved to Harvard, Mass. with some of their children. Walter and Dorothy share a tall monument with their son Thaddeus and his wife.
