John was the fourth of five children that included: Wallace Ray Abrams (b.1912-d.1913); Glen Willard Abrams (b.1913-d.1978); Ruth Viola (Abrams) Aldrich (b.1919-d.1986); and, Isa May "Mickey" (Abrams) Bosworth (b.1923-d.2014).
John married Rosary "Rose" Alice Spera (b.1918-d.2012) April 20, 1941. They had two daughters: Linda Ruth (Abrams) Stephens Pendleton; and Nancy Ann (Abrams) Tarver (b.1944-d.2015).
