Marlyn G. Evenson, age 85, of 5402 Marken Road, Valders, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2016 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton, Wisconsin.

Marlyn was born July 29, 1930 in the town of Liberty, Wisconsin, son of the late Bennett and Myrna (Damm) Evenson. He graduated from Valders High School with the Class of 1949. On June 21, 1952, he married the former Margaret E. Brandl of Manitowoc. Marlyn was employed at Lake to Lake, Kasper Construction, Evenson Construction, and Sperber and Krueger Logging Company. He was a member of Rockea Hunting Club, Liberty Hunting Club and a lifetime member of the Viking Bow and Gun Club. Marlyn enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and watching Nascar, Packers, and Brewers, but most of all he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Margaret Evenson; his children: Patricia & Butch Shimek, Manitowoc, Marilyn & Tony Schad, Valders, Terry Evenson & special friend Kimberly Johnson, Valders, Jeff & Julie Evenson, Valders, and James & Brenda Evenson, Valders; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Joyce Wiegert & Virginia Meyer, both of Valders; one brother and sister-in-law: Dennis & Marlene Evenson, Valders; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Veronica Evenson, Judy Evenson, and Danny Meyer, all of Valders; one brother-in-law: Jerry Brandl, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Germaine Bauer, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers-in-law: Betty & Ted Jeske, Ruby & Bud Meyer, June Meyer, Robert Meyer and Bill Wiegert; three brothers: Gene Evenson, Donald Evenson, and Roger Evenson. Marlyn was also preceded in death by four nephews: Craig Meyer, Jay Meyer, Wally Evenson, and James Bauer.

Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 2, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Erica Cunningham. Burial of Marlyn's cremated remains will take place at Valders West Cemetery, Valders.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 2, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.

Marlyn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved spending his weekends up north at the cabin with family and friends. He especially loved watching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play sports. We love you and will miss you.
