Born in Reading, he was son of the late Oscar R. and Sallie H. (Eck) Long.
He was employed for 11 years by the Bernville Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1989.
Surviving are three sisters: Marion R. (Long) Sauer, Arlene E. (Long) Swartz and Esther M. (Long) Luckenbill, all of Bernville.
Other survivors include two half sisters, Marian (Long) Nagel and Shirley (Long) Armstrong, and a half brother, Gerald Long, all of Reading.
Services will be private. Burial will be in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Township. The Kirkhoff Funeral Home, Bernville, is in charge of arrangements.
