Bernard Vernon Lafferty, 78, of Carthage, passed away at 10:20 P.M. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
Bernard was born November 17, 1935, the son of Fred Vernon and Alta May (Marsh) Lafferty in Burlington, Iowa. He was a member of the Carthage United Methodist Church.
Bernard is survived by his common law wife, Della Ruth Walker of Carthage; two sisters, Mary E. Lafferty of Del Rio, Texas and Fran Williams of Brookfield, Missouri; and two brothers, Donald G. Lafferty of Lechlade, Missouri and Ernie Lafferty of LaPlata, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters: Donna Signs, Robert Lafferty, William Lafferty, Carol Lafferty, Susan Vines, Sarah Lafferty, Margie Lafferty, and Kenneth Lafferty.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. A memorial fund has been established
