Born January 20, 1934, in Burlington, he was the son of Fred and Alta Marsh Lafferty. On April 5, 1958, he married Barbara Myers in Oquawka, IL.
Bill was a laborer at various companies including West Burlington Schools, Meeker's Landing, and St. Francis Care Center.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, and martial arts. After retirement he owned and operated Bill's Lawn Service for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Ron (Kelly Fageol) Lafferty and Jeff Lafferty, both of Burlington; two daughters, Teresa (Scott) Krieger of Mediapolis and Lisa Lafferty of Burlington; six grandchildren, Aaron Lafferty, Lindsey Webb, Megan Ronner, Dustin Lafferty, Jordan Krieger, and Andrew Lafferty; six great-grandchildren, Darren, Zachary, Kaylee, Daegen, Chloie, and Devin; four brothers, Kenneth Lafferty of Missouri, Bernard Lafferty of Carthage, IL, Donald "Duck" Lafferty of Laclede, MO, and Ernie Lafferty of Missouri; three sisters, Frances Williams of Brookfield, MO, Marge Day of Missouri, and Mary Lafferty of Del Rio, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
As per Bill's request cremation has been accorded. There will be no visitation or services.
