John J. Halbach, age 80, of Mount Calvary, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
He was born September 19, 1936, to William Sr. & Hilda (Buechel) Halbach.
On June 18, 1960, he married the former Mae "Kate" Kaiser at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mount Calvary. Kate preceded him in death on September 11, 2010.
John had worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church in Mount Calvary and a member of the Malone Area Heritage Museum.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Kris (Korb) Halbach of rural St. Cloud; his sister, Mary (Gerald) Augustine of St. Nazianz; his brothers-in-law, Don (Carol) Kaiser and Michael (Rose) Kaiser of Mount Calvary; his sisters-in-law, Erna Halbach of Calvary Station, Joan (Jerry) Burg, Julie Kaiser, and Lyla Kaiser all of Mount Calvary and Ruth (Gene) Rusch of Brownsville. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William Sr. & Hilda Halbach; his wife, Mae "Kate" Halbach; his brothers, Arvin (Dorothy) Halbach, Emil Halbach, William Halbach, James Halbach, and Kenneth Halbach; his infant sister, Mary Ann Halbach; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Eugene & Nicella (Simon) Kaiser; and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Kaiser, Richard Kaiser, & Robert Kaiser.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at St. Isidore Parish-Holy Cross Church, 308 S. County Road W, Mount Calvary, WI 53057. Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap. will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Mount Calvary.
Visitation: Family and friends may greet the family on Thursday, November 10th at the church from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM.
