Clarence Edward Ruleford, 82, of Gwinn, MI died Tuesday morning, October 26, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital.
He was born October 1, 1928, in Porterfield, Wisconsin, a son of the late William and Clara (Williams) Ruleford.

Ed was a Korean Conflict veteran having served in the Army and Air Force.

On May 7, 1949 he married the former Carol J. Potter in Menominee and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2004.

Ed was employed as a police officer, owned and operated the former Harbor House Restaurant in Menominee, MI and later worked as a heavy equipment operator for Bacco Construction after moving to Gwinn in 1972.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Menominee and Marquette, the Ahmed Shrine, the Gwinn VFW Post #5670 and longtime member of the Hayward Lake Club. His leisure activities included hunting, fishing and reading books.

He is survived by three children: Jean Rosene of Gwinn, MI; Marge (Randy) Nyberg of Lehigh Acres, FL and Troy Ruleford of Kaukauna, WI;
grandchildren: Randy (Tammy) Nyberg of Gwinn, Angel Rosene of Gwinn, Jamie Heikkinen of Gwinn, Jennifer (Ken) Taylor, Michelle Fildes and Stephen Nyberg, all of Lehigh Acres, FL, Ellie Ruleford, Maggie Ruleford, Kayla and Sarah Brantmeyer; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Rosene, Mitchell Nyberg, Kyler Fildes, Cara Taylor, Riley Taylor and Alyssa Waltenen;
siblings: Evelyn Van Hese of Menominee, MI; Richard Ruleford of Marinette, WI; James (Janet) Ruleford of FL; Theodore (Donna) Ruleford of Gwinn, MI; Linda (Butch) Stutleen of Green Bay, WI and William Ruleford of El Paso, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Anne Marie Mays, Alice Hasse, Nancy Sorenson and Leonard Ruleford.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Westman officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
