Evelyn S. VanHese, age 92, of Menominee, Mich., passed away on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Mary (Diane), where she resided for the past three years. Evelyn Sarah Ruleford was born on Aug. 7, 1926, in Marinette, Wis., to the late William and Clara (Williams) Ruleford.

On May 27, 1944, Evelyn married Peter VanHese in Norway, Mich.
Evelyn worked as an aide at the former Lloyd Hospital in Menominee and Bay Area Medical Center retiring in 1986 as a central service technician. Evelyn enjoyed bowling, bingo and wintering in Arizona. She was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and the VFW auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughters: Mary (Diane) VanHese and Claire (Al) Turner, both of Menominee, MI;
sons: Joe (Susan) of Minnesota and William (Maxine) of Stephenson, Mich.;
13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren;
sister, Linda (Ben) Stutleen;
and brother, Theodore (Donna) Ruleford.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; and eight brothers and sisters.

Visitation will take place at Anderson Kell Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Evelyn VanHese at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Father Brian Gerber officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
