Anne M. Mays, 66, Peshtigo, passed away on Tuesday October 27, 2009, in Green Bay. She was born on September 30, 1943, to the late William and Clara (Williams) Ruleford in Marinette.
On August 14, 1964, she married Robert Mays in Menominee. She had worked for the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin for many years until retiring in 2007. Anne was a very giving person who loved taking care of others. She helped to raise and nurture many children and was a mother to many. She was a member of the Green Bay Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing, camping and travel.
Anne is survived by husband of 45 years, Robert; a daughter, Barbara (Randy) Kluth of Green Bay, Wis.; two grandchildren: Anthony and Christina; five brothers; Richard Ruleford of Marinette, Wis., Ed Ruleford of Gwinn, Mich., Jim (Janet) Ruleford of Merritt Island, Fla., Bill Ruleford of El Paso, Texas and Ted (Donna) of Gwinn, Mich.; two sisters: Evelyn VanHese of Menominee, Mich. and Linda (Ben) Stutleen of Peshtigo, Wis.; foster daughter, Susan Werchek; 41 nieces and nephews and special friend, Karen Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Ronald and James; a brother Leonard (Rita) Ruleford and two sisters: Alice Hasse and Nancy Sorenson.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, form 10 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Warren Waddell officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens on Monday.
