Sammy Edwin Henderson, 81, of Franklin, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016.

Born in Macon Co., he was the son of the late Glen Henderson and Mable Dills Henderson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jake Henderson and two sisters, Helen Tallent and Glenda Cook. Sammy was a US Air Force veteran and owned and operated several local gas stations. In high school, he played football for FHS and took pride in cheering them on Friday nights at the Panther Pit. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working on Volkswagens.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Roten Henderson; two daughters, Kathy Seay and husband Danny and Karen Sanders and husband Kevin all of Franklin; one brother, Arley Henderson and wife Geraldine of Franklin; three grandchildren; one great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22 at Prentiss Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Sellers will officiate.
