LEO J. KONOP
(1926 - 2010)
Leo J. Konop, age 84, of 109 N. Packer Drive, PO Box 87, Francis Creek, and a resident for the past eight weeks of Northridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center passed away on early Thursday morning, December 16, 2010, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Leo was born on June 10, 1926, in Menchalville, son of the late Charles and Emma (Shebesta) Konop Sr. He graduated from East De Pere High School in 1944. He married the former Shirley Rowe on April 26, 1952, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Leo worked as a steamfitter for Local #400 Plumbers and Steamfitters, retiring in 1989. Leo started auctioneering in 1951. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife: Shirley Konop, Francis Creek; one son and daughter-in-law: Gary (Ellen) Konop, Germantown; one daughter and son-in-law: Kay Konop (Stephen Webb) London, England; two grandchildren: Sarah Konop and Laura Konop; one brother and sister-in-law: James (Patricia) Konop, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Emily Loritz, Manitowoc; Mary (Joseph) Remiker, Maple Grove. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Emma Konop Sr.; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles (Mayme) Konop, Jr.: Louis (Doreen) Konop.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek. Rev. Paul Paider will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, 1500 Hwy 310, Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday December 28, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
