Rev. Frederick Charles Cassell, 83, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Cassell was born in Vesta, VA to the late Elder Elisha Edgar Cassell and Maggie Ruth Knowles Cassell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Dovie Legus, Tootsie Pilson, Lessie Thomas, Sid Hopkins, and his twin, Frances Hines; and brothers, Elmer Cassell and James Cassell.

Survivors include his wife, Foy Joyce Cassell; daughters, Pamela Denise Cassell and Kimberly Cassell Clontz and husband, Wayne Clontz; grandchildren and spouse, Kandace Clontz and Zachary and April Clontz; and great granddaughter, Maggie Rose Nichols.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Concord Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Sandy Hendrick and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the Cassell Cemetery with military rites being conducted at the graveside by the Hillsville V.F.W. Grover King Post 1115.

Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Cassell.
