(1930 - 2013)

Robert F. Bushman, age 82, a Newton resident, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, January 30, 2013 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on February 16, 1930 in Newton, son of the late Andrew and Clara (Bonde) Bushman. Bob was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in the 59th Engineer Division during the Korean War. On May 19, 1954 he married the former Rose L. Zinkel at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Northeim. Bob was employed at the Kohler Company for 42 years, retiring in 1992. He was a lifetime member and on the Board of Directors for Manitowoc County Fish & Game, a member of the Pigeon Lake Sportsman Club, VFW 8974 of Cleveland, Cleveland Senior Citizens and the Catholic Knights. Bob was a former Scout Master with the Boy Scouts and also a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community. He was an avid sportsman, fisherman, hunter, gardener, loved playing sheepshead and also enjoyed carpentry and building bird houses.

Survivors include his wife: Rose Bushman, Newton; one son and two daughter-in-laws: Edward & Wendy Bushman, Big Bend, WI, Mary (Ron) Hinz, Manitowoc; two daughters and son-in-laws: Lori & Mark Schwoerer, Valders, Joan & James Hofmann, Sheboygan; eleven grandchildren: Niomi (Dustin) Bock, Natalie Bushman, Clayton Bushman, Riley Plemons and fiancé Courtney Mertens, Carly Plemons, Jeremy Bushman, Emily Bushman and fiancee Jason Boettner, Ellyse Bushman, Michael Schwoerer, Rebecca (Adam) Puta, Ashley Hofmann; one great granddaughter: Sophie Boettner; two sisters: Mildred Bogenschutz and Lucille Strauss, both of Manitowoc; and brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws: Rosie Bushman, Richard & Dorothy Zinkel, Joyce Zinkel, Mary Zinkel, Florence & Darrell McCollum and Delores & Donald Manlick. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by a son: Jack Bushman; a great- granddaughter: Zanthea Bock; five brothers: Odilo, Andrew, Joseph, Raymond & Daniel Bushman; seven sisters: Marcella Holschbach, Margaret Schill, Julitta Wagner, Sally Martzal, Mary LeCompte, Aurelia Kohlbeck, Cecelia Bushman; and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc, to follow.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, from 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 until 6:00 p.m. A Prayer Service will conclude the visitation at 6:00 p.m. led by Sister Marlita. Friends may also call Monday morning at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton, from 9:30 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 until 10:45 a.m.
