Chester was the son of Salmon And Alethea Smith Kingsley. Salmon served in the Revolutionary War. Chester married Rhoda Weeks in Litchfield County, CT on 7 March 1804. They had sixteen children: Eliza, Horace Eaton, Harvey, Henry, Alathea, Harrison, Chester, Amos Weeks, Rhoda, Jane, Sabra, Willilam, John W, Helen, Frances A and William. Rhoda and Chester ran the Kingsley Grist-Mill in East Clarendon in 1825 and lived in a house built in 1778, which remains standing next to the Old Kingsley Mill and the Kingsley Covered Bridge in East Clarendon.

Chester and Rhoda, as well as their children John W and Chester, are buried in this cemetery. Rhoda's grave stone still stands but only the base of the stone for Chester remains. The stone for their son, John, was between the stones for Chester and Rhoda.
