Ada Estelle Keen, age 55, of Swords Creek, Va. passed away Wednesday en route to a Richlands, Va. hospital, victim of an apparent heart attack, born at Swords Creek, Va. and was the daughter of Neely and Tora Richardson Vance, she was a member of the Pine Creek Pole Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Neely and Tora Richardson Vance.

Survivors include her husband, Archie Bascom Keen; four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Spiva of Marietta, Ga., Mrs. Alice Albert of Swords Creek, Va., Mrs. Lytie Slate of Swords Creek, Va. and Mrs. Ruth Byrd of Swords Creek, Va.; one son, Daniel Keen of Swords Creek, Va.

Four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Childress of Swords Creek, Va., Mrs. Queen Jackson of Jewell Ridge, Va., Mrs. Betty Christian of Springville, Va. and Mrs. Trudell Ringstaff of Springville, Va.; four brothers Clell Vance and Trevet Vance, both of Swords Creek, Va., Jack Vance of Jacksonville, Fla. and Earshel Vance of Jewell Ridge, Va.; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 26 at 2:00 P.M. in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ancil Childress and Rev. Harley Dye officiating. Interment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Honaker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
