Victoria Lytie Slate, age 47, of Route 1, Swords Creek, Virginia passed away Wednesday in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Born in Russell County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Bascom and Ada Vance Keen. She had spent most of her life in Russell County and was a former employee of Honaker Mills in Honaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Miss Shelia Slate of Fairley, West Virginia; three sons, Raymond Slate, Jr. of Swords Creek, Jeffery Slate of Fairley, West Virginia and Jackie Dale Slate, stationed with the U. S. Army in Fort Linwood, Missouri; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Spivey of Marietta, Georgia; Mrs. Alice Albert and Mrs. Ruth Byrd both of Swords Creek; one brother, Daniel Keen of Swords Creek; one granddaughter, Raeanne Slate.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Brown and Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Interment followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Friends of the family served as pallbearers. Honaker Funeral Home was in charge.
