Henry (Sonny) Eagens was born to Harry R. Eagens of Pa. and Anna Tague of Scotland. He was one of 5 children: Eleanor, Mary (Mae), Anna H. and Joan Therese who died at birth.

Henry H. Eagens, age 80 , of Rocky River OH died on February 1, 2004. He was a self employed salesman and member of the American Foundry Men Society, the Propeller Club and was very involved with the Irish Heritage Cultural Center. He was also an active volunteer at St. Christopher Catholic Church.

Mr. Eagens is a licensed funeral director and founder of Carlson Eagens Funeral Home in Brunswick. He worked part-time the past 10 years at Waite & Son Funeral Home, Brunswick Chapel.
He also founded Brunswick Industrial Inc. in 1966, which has now been turned over to a son and a daughter.

While living in Brunswick from the mid-1950's to the mid-1960's, he served as President of the Brunswick Civic Corporation and Vice-President of the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce. He was a Little League coach at St. Ambrose School and founding member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church where he served as an usher.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served with the ''Big Red I'' in the European Theater.
In his retirement, he and his wife developed Greenfields, a subdivision on Substation Road in Brunswick and donated 23 acres to Medina Summit Land Conservancy to be preserved.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Jacquelyn E. Eagens (nee Hanninen) and his five children and 10 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sisters Eleanor Filkins, Mae Beas and Peggy Brown.
In addition to the calling hours on Wednesday, there will be 1/2 hour of calling hours at St. Christopher Church on Thursday before the Mass of Christian Burial.
