My Irish Grandmother (Nana) Anna M. Tague was born in Airdrie, County of Lanark, Scotland to parents, John Joseph Tague(1859-19367) and Margaret Gilmartin(1861-1929 both of Irish decent.

Anna was one of 6 siblings all also born in Airdrie, Scotland: Thomas, Infant Michael, Michael, Mary, Hugh and John.

Anna's family was from Ireland, Roscommon and Leitrim Counties. The family had left Ireland at the time of the Great potato famine and did not have money to come to the states. They landed in Scotland and eventually settled in Airdre, Scotland.

Anna Tague came to America with her brother Michael Tague on July 27, 1913 from Airdre, Scotland. They departed from Glasgow, Scotland on the ship The California. She was 18 years old, Michael was 26. She had 25.00 pounds or dollars in her purse. The port of departure was Glasgow, Scotland, UK and the ship was the California. She entered the United States through Ellis Island, New York. Anna came to live with an aunt in Youngstown, Ohio,

She married Harry R. Eagens(1892-1964) on May 20, 1918 in Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio. After living in Youngstown, Ohio they settled in Cleveland, Ohio where they raised their family. Anna & Harry had 5 children, Eleanor Margaret, Mary Josephine, Anna Henrietta, Henry H., and an infant that died shortly after birth named Joan Teresa.

Anna died on Mother's Day, May 12, 1980 in Bay Village, Ohio and is laid to rest with her husband Harry R. Eagens in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Anna M. Tague Eagens funeral was conducted by Berry's Funeral Home located at 7200 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
