Harry grew up on farms in Pennsylvania, after his father died the family moved to an uncle's farm.
He moved to the Youngstown, Ohio area temporarily and then on to Cleveland, Ohio where he made his home until his death in 1964.
He married Anna Tague(1893-1980) in 1918 in Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio. They had 5 children together: Eleanor, Mary Josephine, Anna H., Henry H. and Joan Therese(1929-1929).
Harry Eagens was a sign painter for many years in Cleveland, Ohio. Back in those years painters scaled tall buildings to paint lettering and pictures. They would use just ropes to lower or raise themselves. Harry Eagens made his own ropes.
Harry died in 1964 at the age of 74 from kidney failure complications after surgery. He is laid to rest beside his wife Anna in Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park, Ohio 44142 (216 267-2850)

Harry was married in 1911 to Julia Salamony, they had two children: Beatrice born in Jan 1912 and Robert born in 1913, Robert died a few months after his birth. Julia and Harry divorced and both were remarried.
