He married Karen Kufahl on Oct. 24, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockbridge, WI.
Following his graduation from Chilton High School, he completed a heavy equipment certification program and worked for Hedrich Construction building bridges. Later he was co-owner of Juckem and Bancroft Inc. general contractors, and TDS Services tool and die business with his son. He enjoyed farming his Tender Acres.
A member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Chilton, he sang in the choir for over 20 years.
After retiring to Crivitz, he belonged to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Crivitz. He and his wife built their retirement home on the river. He enjoyed bird watching, creating in his woodworking shop, running his backhoe, reading and helping family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Karen;
two children: David (Michele) of Chilton, WI and Marceil Luedtke (Julia Rajtar) of Roseville, Minn.;
one grandson;
brothers and sisters: Tillie (Art) Kozminski of Greenfield, WI; Mary Agnes (Tony) Leonhard of Chilton, WI; Sr. Mary Carol of Milwaukee, WI; Leonard (Carol) Juckem of Stockbridge, WI; Ginny (Ray) Ries of Fond du Lac, WI; Betty (George) Jost of Hilbert, WI and Rita (Stan) Timmer of Duluth, Minn.
and sisters-in-law, Ellen (Harry) Sturtz, Julie (Herman) Juckem and Liz (Charles) Juckem.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George, John (Erma), Herman and Charles Juckem; a sister-in-law, Elsie Juckem and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Marceil Kufahl.
A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Crivitz with Rev. Donald Burkart officiating. Visitation was held at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
