He married Juliana Thuecks on April 23, 1960 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho.
Following his graduation from Chilton High School, he worked with his family on the family farm.
In 1951, he joined the United States Army and faithfully served his country until his discharge in 1953.
Herman began working at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein, until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus branch 2556.
Herman was a simple man who enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, and frequently helped his family on the farm. Herman took great pride in his family and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Juliana; two children, Richard (Linda) Juckem of Chilton, Sandra (Dan) Meyer of Chilton; five grandchildren, Erin, Jonathan, and Justin Juckem, Brett and Joshua Meyer; his brothers and sisters, Tillie (Art) Kozminski of Greenfield, Mary Agnes (Tony) Leonhard of Chilton, Sr. Mary Carol of Milwaukee, Leonard (Carol) Juckem of Stockbridge, Ginny (Ray) Ries of Fond du Lac, Betty (George) Jost of Hilbert, Chuck (Liz) Juckem of Waukesha, Tony (Karen) Juckem of Crivitz, Rita (Stan) Timmer of Duluth, MN; and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ellen (Harry) Sturtz, Olga (Ron) Kleist, Mary Ann (Joe) Roehrig, Clarence (Anne) Thuecks.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Juckem and John (Erna) Juckem; a sister-in-law, Elsie Juckem; and his father- and mother-in-law, Alois and Catherine Thuecks.
Funeral service will be on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 54 E. Main St. in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
