John W. Goldsmith Dies While Returning To Home Near Chatfield

Chatfield, Minn. --(Special)- John W. Goldsmith, 69, died Wednesday in an ambulance as he was being returned to his farm home following a discharge from a Rochester hospital.

Mr. Goldsmith had been a patient in Rochester following hip injuries received in a fall on his farm two miles south of here. He had been a patient for approximately three weeks and had been discharged from the hospital.

Mr. Goldsmith was born August 25, 1879. He married Miss Mary Green. One daughter, Dorothy was born to them. He married Dora Oviatt Crosby, September 23, 1915.

He is survived by his first daughter, Dorothy, Los Angeles, Calif.; four daughters by later marriage, Mrs. Constance Kellogg, Wykoff; Mrs. Ted Rogers, Chatfield; Mrs. Lawrence Westphal, Wykoff; Mrs. R. J. Sandbo, Chatfield; tow sons, John Jr., and Charles, Chatfield; (Two sons, Robert and Donald preceded him in death); two brothers, Richard T., Puyallup, Wash., David, Chatfield; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Bernard and Mrs. Ruth Gray, Chatfield, and Mrs. James Anway, Red Wing, and eight grandchildren.

Masonic funeral arrangements have not been completed.
