Mrs. Concetta (Anzalone) Valera, 79, of 5 Hale St., died Monday in Burbank Hospital. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Valera.

She leaves three sons, Philip and Anthony of Leominster and James Valera of Boylston; five daughters, Josephine, wife of Leo Calamare; Rose, wife of Samuel Catanese; Mary, wife of Louis E. Varieur, the Misses Angela and Joanna Valera, all of Fitchburg; three brothers, Michael of New York, Joseph of Leominster and Philip Anzalone of Fitchburg; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Giunta, Mrs. Philippa Inannacone, Mrs. Sadie Quatrale and Mrs. Jennie Bensuk, all of Fitchburg; 32 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A sixth daughter, Concetta, wife of Ciro Barone is deceased.

She was born in Sicily, Italy, daughter of Anthony and Josephine (Fidenty) Anzalone and lived here 50 years.

Mrs. Valera was a member of St. Anthony's Parish, the Madonna Della Cava Society and a past member of the Mt. Carmel Socity.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
