Mrs. August Quante died at her home in Schleswig, Tuesday, of old age, after being confined to her bed for three years. The deceased, nee Bertha Zorn, was born in Pommerania, Germany, Sept, 15, 1837, and came to America in 1854. In 1858 she was married to August Quante, the couple making their home on a farm in Schleswig, where they have since resided.
She is survived by her husband, who is 94 years of age, seven children, 26 grandchildren and eight great-grand-children. The sons are Rud. on the homestead, and Aug. in the town of Meeme; the daughters; Mrs. Pauline Ibe, Mrs. Mathilda Haarmann and Mrs. Helen Roehl, of Schleswig, Mrs. Bertha Eichhorn of Kiel, and Mrs. Emilie Koeppen of Meeme.
She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. J. Loos of Millhome, Mrs. Albert Schulz of Howards Grove, and Mrs. M. Strassmann of Sturgeon Bay. The funeral services will be held at the home Friday afternoon, Rev. Witte officiating, with interment in the Louis Corners cemetery.
