She was born Sept. 16, 1922 in the Town Centerville, the daughter of the late Gregor and Catherine Schwartz Leonhard. Florence graduated from St. Fidelis Catholic Grade School in the Town of Meeme.
On Oct. 26, 1946, Florence was united in marriage to Walter J. Kress at St. George Catholic Church in Cleveland. The couple resided in Cleveland (Hika) and the marriage was blessed with five children.
Florence was employed by the Kohler Company and by Polar Ware of Sheboygan. She was a former member of St. Wendel Catholic Church and of its Christian Woman Society. Florence was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan, Cleveland Senior Citizens and R.S.V.P.
Florence is survived by her husband, Walter of Cleveland; three sons, Florian "Butch" (Marie) Kress of Fond du Lac, Joseph (Peggy) Kress and Stephen (Mary) Kress, both of Sheboygan; two daughters, Marilyn (Jim) LaFond of Okemos, Mich. and Connie (Ron) Morken of Oregon, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Viola Braun of Sheboygan, Clarissa Tadych and Ellen (Harry) Sturtz of Chilton; one brother, Anthony (Mary) Leonhard of Chilton; also many nieces and nephews. Preceding Florence in death are her parents: five brothers, Raymond, Hugo, Herbert, Arno and Lawrence (twin brother) Lennhard; six sisters, Hilaria Dreps, Mathilda Fesing, Evelyn Kolberg, Catherine Sukowaty, Magdaline Belitz and Deloris Leonhard.
