Son of Captain Toussaint Dubois, Jesse served in the General Assembly with Abraham Lincoln in 1834, 36, 38 & 42. He was a delegate to the first Republican State Convention in 1856. On the recommendation of Mr. Lincoln, Jesse was nominated for Auditor of Public Accounts & was elected for 2 terms.
