He entered the Army in 1942; after training he served in the South Pacific with anti-aircraft, he was promoted to sergeant and sent to the front lines in Italy,he developed back trouble and was assigned to supervise 130 Germans and Italians in prison camp.He was discharged in 1945.
After employment with several companies, his service- connected back condition worsened, and after a period in Veterans Administration he had to retire in 1965.
