He worked at the Craigsville Quarries,the Chespeake & Ohio Railroad,the Lehigh Portland Cement Co., Fordwick, and in construction at several localities.
He became a representive for the American Federation of Labor and served in Lynchburg,Va until his death there July 15,1957,buried in Thornrose Cemetery,Staunton.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the masons,Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
