Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed church here at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for John Addink, Sr., 80, life-long resident of Sioux Center area, a retired farmer, who died at the local hospital November 10 following a lengthy illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Louis Tamminga, pastor of Bethel Christian Reformed church, and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of the Sioux Center Co-operative Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Dick Addink, Henry W. Addink, John R. DeGroot, Albert Van Riesen, Peter DeGroot and William. A. Verdoorn.

Mr. Addink was born in Sioux Center May 20, 1886. He was married to Jennie Lammers here February 3, 1910. The couple made their home on a farm near Maurice for many years prior to retiring and moving into Sioux Center in 1954. The home address here is 334 Second Avenue Northeast.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Dick of Sioux Center, and Henry of Orange City; five daughters, Dena (Mrs. Albert Van Riesen) of Sioux Center, Mrs. Minnie Byl of Maurice, Gertrude (Mrs. John R. DeGroot) of Maurice, Alice (Mrs. Peter DeGroot) of Maurice, Hattie (Mrs. Wm. A. Verdoorn) of Hospers; 25 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Also surviving him are two brothers, Gerrit of Vancouver, Wash., and Herman of Sioux Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
