Henry Addison Lerew, local carpenter and contractor and a former Cumberland County auditor, died of a heart attack early this morning at his home, 321 North College Street. He was aged 76 years.
Mr Lerew was born in Adams County, April 6, 1859, the son of Jacob and Deliah Lerew. He removed to Carlisle 39 years ago and became engaged in carpentry and contracting work. He actively engaged in Republican politics and served as county auditor for one term, 1928 to 1932.
The survivors are his wife, Mrs Mary Jane Albert Lerew; four sons, Cletus, Binghamton, NY; Rev Charles Lerew, Nutter Fort, W Va; Russell, Shippensburg, and James, at home; three daughters, Mrs Sibert Kingsborough, Carlisle Springs; Mrs John Gries, Carlisle, and Jennie Lerew, at home; ten grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, James Lerew, Ohio; Mrs Charles Horn, York; and Mrs Murray Coover, Hollywood, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday from the home. Burial will be in Kutz's Church Cemetery. Rev I S Ernst, pastor of Grace United Brethren Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 7 until 9 o'clock Sunday night at the home.
