Marguerite Bolander Allphin age 89 passed away on September 5, 2019 at The Isle at Watercrest in Bryan, Texas.

Marguerite grew up in the Dime Box, Texas area. After graduating from high school, she attended business school and worked in a bank in the Gulf Building in downtown Houston.

She married her husband Noble Allphin on July 1, 1950. When their first child, Alice, was born, she became a stay at home mom and homemaker and welcomed another child, Neal, a year and a half later.

She loved taking care of her family. She also enjoyed crocheting and making holiday ornaments, baby blankets and crosses. She also enjoyed gardening.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church College Station for over forty years and worked in many capacities there, including the Discovery Program and the church food pantry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Ellen Bolander; sisters, Lillian McDaniel, Laverne Griffin, Florence Gatlin and Elvira McMillan; brothers, Claude Bolander and J.T. Bolander.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Noble Allphin; daughter Alice and husband Michael Hein; son Neal and wife Diana Allphin; sister in law Judy Bolander, sister Lina and husband Coleman Kelly; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and other family members.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 5:00-7:00pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel College Station. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 9, 2019 at 2:00pm At First Baptist Church College Station.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staffs of the Isle at Watercrest and Hospice Brazos Valley for their exceptional care and compassion.
